This 3-hour workshop is for students who plan to write the Academic and Quantitative Literacy (AQL) paper of the National Benchmarking Test (NBT) and want to understand more about the Academic Literacy (AL) competency area.
WORKSHOP:
- Discuss exactly what Academic Literacy is – and why is it so important?
- Gain an overview of the key components of the test
- Write a sample one-hour test (from ‘Test your Competence’ by Albert Weideman and Tobie van Dyk)
- Mark the test and work through all difficulties
- Discuss any anxieties (and provide additional support should it be necessary)
